I study the spatial and temporal dynamics in the composition and functionality of soil and plant microbiomes in natural and agricultural ecosystems, utilizing cutting-edge molecular, bioinformatic, and statistical tools.Ongoing research projects on mycorrhizal fungi investigate the influence of environmental conditions and disturbance on diversity and community composition in temperate and tropical regions.

I am interested in the community ecology of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi

I study the ecology and function of ectomycorrhizal symbiosis between tree roots and soil fungi. This involves some work in the field, studying which fungi are out there and what they are doing, and a lot of experiments in the greenhouse and the lab, investigating how the plants and fungi work together from molecular and physiological perspectives.
